Mythrae began with a small, slightly painful observation: that two people can love each other and still drift apart quietly, over years, without any conscious decision to.
The evening that goes missing
We know how it happens. The day takes it out of you, the best part of you gone. By the time the plates are done and the screens come out, the last hour, the one that used to be “us time” is already spent. Nobody chooses it, it just accumulates, one tired evening at a time.
Looking back on a long relationship that simply fizzled out, we could see the small things that might have helped: the attention we stopped paying, the conversations we kept meaning to have. A relationship is meant to be two people learning and growing together and making each other better people. But more often than anyone admits, you just grow apart.
What we wish we had
Working in pharma, we help people every day, but rarely as directly as we’d like. We wanted to help people with themselves and their relationships. We’re forever talking about our own special moments, the romantic ones and the cheeky ones, and we wanted a way to help people recreate and reimagine theirs, together.
We’re building a wellness company where everything is personalised, from sleep stories to intimate memories. We want to help people grow and stay intertwined, to keep choosing each other, and themselves, and keep having fun! We are a little differently wired ourselves (especially one of us!), so we know first-hand that closeness sometimes takes a bit of work, and that the right words don’t always arrive on their own. A good deal of what we build is simply there to do some of that asking for you.
We are small on purpose. We build slowly, we disclose what we know and what we don’t, and we work with advisors where their expertise belongs. We are not therapists, and we are not a medical service. We are a sensory house and we take that work seriously.
